Speaking of shitty music…

Not very long ago, I used to buy two or three CD’s a week. Then it became two or three a month. Now, it’s something like four or five a year.

At first, I thought it was XM that made CD’s so… limiting. Though, I realize that I’m spending most of my XM listening time on the 90′s channel, or more frequently, the alternative classic channels.

I’m not regressing. New music just sucks. I don’t understand why faux emo is popular, and I really don’t get how people find ironic bands all that entertaining. And it isn’t for lack of trying. I mean, I’ll check out the top 20 station, and more often than not, the only thing I find myself liking is Beyonce.

I am not a Beyonce fan. Let’s get that straight right now.

Anyway, I was browsing iTunes and realized that many moons ago, some girl I went out with managed to take all of my Pixies discs with her. Incidentally, I say “some girl” not to protect the innocent, but because I’m not sure who it would have been, and I don’t want to go accusing someone who will almost certainly never read this anyway.

That all said, I came across this “best of” album, and couldn’t believe what an incredible value it was. (And yes, I feel dirty for calling something an “incredible value”, but seriously… $9.99 for 23 tracks?)

In a nutshell: everyone should buy this album, even though it won’t make you any cooler, and it won’t change the fact that I liked them before you did.
