In a nutshell: You may copy original content here and use it somewhere else, as long as you’ve included where the content came from, and that copying it isn’t for commercial purposes.
So, if I took a picture of a monkey masturbating atop a turtle, you could post it on your own shitty blog that I will probably never read anyway.
You may not take any original content for commercial purposes. This means that you can not take the picture of the masturbating money, and sell it to a publisher. Or perhaps more clearly: this means that you are not a worthless fuckwit like Eric Bauman.
You also may not make derivative works based on original content here. This means that you can’t make a movie called The Bitchy IT Guy that’s “confusingly similar” to what I’ve posted, or submit one of my brilliant diatribes as your master’s thesis.
Content that is not originally created may be protected by United States copyright and / or other applicable laws. Whenever possible, borrowed content is attributed to the source it was obtained from.
